Korea is renowned for its academic fervor and diligent efforts, particularly among students who exhibit passion and self-discipline in their studies, often by limiting their phone usage. Like many others, I utilize various apps to reduce screen time and enhance focus, yet I face challenges due to English not being my native language.

I strongly believe that incorporating Korean language support would significantly enhance the accessibility and utility of this app for Korean users. With the option to use the app in Korean, students would be able to manage their screen time more effectively and concentrate better on their studies. Moreover, considering that users who prefer Korean would likely engage more actively with the app, it is anticipated that the app’s popularity and usage would increase.

Therefore, adding Korean language support not only improves the accessibility and usefulness of the app but also contributes to its success in the Korean market.

There is a translation error in the Portuguese version of the ā€˜Resume’ button when you pause a session. The translation was rendered as ā€˜CurrĆculo,’ which means ā€˜curriculum vitae.’ The correct translation would be ā€˜Continuar’ or ā€˜Retomar.’"

Please add languages so that the app can be used in languages other than English

Title: Portuguese (PT-BR) Translation Request :brazil:

Hi Opal team and community

I’d like to suggest adding Portuguese (Brazil) as an official language option for Opal.

Brazil is one of the countries with the highest screen time and mobile usage in the world, and tools focused on reducing screen time can have a huge positive impact here. Making Opal available in Portuguese would significantly lower the entry barrier and allow many more people to benefit from the product.

From a practical perspective — especially in the AI era — localization is not a complex task. In many cases, it comes down to structured translations, prompts, or simple automation pipelines (sometimes literally a Ctrl+C / Ctrl+V plus a translation step). The potential return in adoption and engagement is huge.

Having Opal in Portuguese would:

  • Make the product accessible to millions of new users
  • Improve onboarding and daily usability
  • Expand Opal’s reach in a highly engaged, mobile-first market

I truly believe this small step could unlock a big opportunity for Opal in Brazil :brazil:
Thanks for considering it, and congrats on building a product that genuinely helps people rethink their relationship with screens.
