Choice to not see screen time compared to others - SOLVED

I struggle with spending money, it has to do with my adhd and other mental illnesses because my brain has bad dopamine regulation. so I think the app is great for blocking my impulse buys like DoorDash.
BUT, since I have a chronic illness that causes me to be immunocompromised for months or years at a time, sometimes I HAVE to stay in, some days I have doctor ordered bed rest, and it can be discouraging if I can’t turn off the stats on my screen time vs others. Because some days I have absolutely no energy (due to fevers or severe illnesses) and can ONLY be on my phone. It becomes discouraging to see that I have a high screen time when I don’t often have a choice. It doesn’t need to be completely gone. But I would like the option to not be compared

Hey there,

Happy to help. There are two ways to disconnect from the social elements of this app; however, please note if you’d like to disconnect and reconnect, you’ll need to follow these steps each time.

First up, you are more than welcome to remove anyone who is following you by going to your Profile > Settings > Friends > and then press the “…” next to each friend and click “Stop Sharing.” That way, your screen time will no longer be shared with them!

Your second option is to head to your phone Settings, and then scroll down to Opal. From there, toggle to “off” beside “Contacts” in the “Allow Opal to Access” section.

I hope that helps,
Team Opal
