Digital Detox: Going offline for days - what would you want?

I’ve been talking to users about something interesting: Digital Detox mode.

The idea came up in interviews where people said they want to go completely offline for multiple days in a row. Not just limiting apps, but creating space for real disconnection.

This feels different from our current blocking - it’s about intentionally stepping away from the digital world entirely. Maybe for weekends, vacations, or just when life gets overwhelming.

I’m curious:

  • Have you ever wanted to do a multi-day digital detox?
  • What would make it actually possible (vs. just deleting apps and hoping for willpower)?
  • Should it block everything, or allow certain essentials like calls/maps?
  • What would help you prepare beforehand so you don’t panic and break it?

I love that Opal users think bigger than just “use TikTok less.” You’re trying to build genuinely better relationships with technology.

The more specific you can be about what would actually work for your life, the better we can build this. What would your ideal digital detox look like?
