Whenever my social media addiction gets the best of me and I open Opal, I see a duckling or waves slowly crashing a beach with the message “Embrace this pause, reflect before you scroll” or something along those lines. The imagery is nice and the message is clear, BUT it is there for just 5 seconds and then it disappears to make way for an “Almost there!”. This strikes me as odd, for the one message is: are you SURE you want to use socials again?, directly followed by “you’ll be there soon! Hang in there! Only 30 more seconds until you can finally cave!”
Don't show me an encouraging "Almost there" when I'm actively trying to evade my social media blocks
