I want to still get notifications but have the app locked like in case of emergency

Since Opal runs on screen time, once the app is “blocked”, it also prevents screen time. If it’s really that urgent, you can do what I do (with or without Opal) by checking your phone once every 30 minutes. I set up an “open limit” block, allowing me to check social media 10x a day. If it’s a true emergency, like to the level of this person being an “emergency contact”, then it’s best you notify that person to call you directly through the phone line rather than the apps. You can make a white lie that the internet and the app are unreliable or something like that at the specific time you need to do deep work but are open to the emergencies.
