I suggest that the Opal app introduces a feature that utilizes AI to analyze users’ app usage patterns over a period, such as a week. Based on this analysis, the app could automatically generate personalized recommendations for adjusting the allowed time on each app. For instance, it could suggest decreasing the permitted usage time for certain apps or, conversely, increasing it if the initial goals appear unrealistic in the context of an individual’s actual usage patterns. These recommendations should be presented to users in the form of a message, offering them the option to accept or reject the suggested adjustments. This feature would not only enhance the app’s utility by making time management goals more attainable and tailored to personal habits but also empower users by giving them informed choices regarding their digital well-being.
Nice suggestion buddy
Opal should detect the behavior of the user and suggest blocking modes after the weekly report.
Something like: hey we detected you use this distracting app sometimes and you leave it after 5 mins and it is ok, but sometimes this distracting app is used more than one hour… would you like to set up a “time limit” or a “unlock mode” restriction? so you can notice when you’re entering this distracted state.
The current solution is just to put the “set block” button without any hint and what should be the block that helps you the most to cut down on phone usage.
It would be more helpful and impactful to show the potential years saving when enabling (and blocking based on) this category than to show the years saving at the beginning of each week.
Each suggested block will contribute to more tailored blocking profiles for everyone.
Thanks.
Hey @Felipe ,
Thanks for the feature request! I’ve passed this suggestion along to our engineers to consider as we continue to upgrade the app and merged this request into the existing thread on the feature request. Stay tuned!
All the best,
