A few takeaways:

  • in 1990, 3% of Americans said they had no close friends. In 2021 it’s 15%. If Billions of people are connected through social media, why are we so lonely?
  • Social media created a simulation of reality that we confuse with reality, making us lonely. "we have created tools that are ripping appart the fabric of societt
  • BeReal promises to restore authenticity to social media “the anti-social media social-media”, and took off this year.
