Hi! I would love to use Opal Mac on OpenAI’s browser ChatGPT Atlas. It’s based on Chromium but unfortunately it isn’t working to block at the moment.

That’s a fair question, and I can see why supporting Opal inside ChatGPT Atlas on macOS would be useful for staying focused while working in a browser built around AI. Since Atlas is still fairly new, it feels like extension and integration support is somewhat limited, which may be why Opal does not function as expected yet. As Atlas matures, native support or compatibility for productivity tools like this could add a lot of value for users. Have you noticed whether this issue is specific to Atlas, or does Opal behave differently for you in other Chromium-based browsers on macOS?
This is specific to Atlas.
It works for me on Chrome/Safari.
Atlas is in theory built on Chromium and compatible with extensions – but Opal doesn’t use extensions anymore. There could be a technical blocker but I’d assume it’s just Opal isn’t asking for permissions to control ChatGPT Atlas (e.g. Automation permission) like it does for Chrome/Safari.

Happy to help. Currently, our Mac app supports Chrome, Safari, Arc, Opera, Edge, and Brave. That said, I’ve passed your suggestion to support the ChatGPT Atlas browser along to our Mac App engineer to consider as we continue to improve the app. Given that the Mac App is currently relatively new, it’s possible we’ll integrate that in the future. Stay tuned on that front!
