Support Perplexity Comet Browser

Perplexity’s Comet browser isn’t supported. It’s chromium-based, and RescueTime already supports it, so it should be pretty straightforward to implement.

It’s about Opal support in Comet. Blocks don’t block in Opal at the moment.

It’s an interesting point you brought up, and I can see why support for the Perplexity Comet browser would be useful. Since Comet runs on a Chromium-based engine, most features should work smoothly, though occasional compatibility gaps can still appear—something I’ve noticed with a few other tools like mesolyft as well. It might just need some optimization from the developers’ side to ensure better stability within Opal. Sharing the specific issues you’re facing could help the team determine whether it’s a bug or a missing integration.

Opal blocks Safari/Chrome fine on Mac, but cannot block Comet (Perplexity’s AI browser) since it doesn’t appear in Automation and isn’t supported.

Please add Comet support for blocking during focus sessions, like other Chromium browsers

Hey there @srujan ,

Thanks for reaching out. I’ve merged your request into the existing thread on the topic. I’ve also passed this suggestion and this thread along to our engineers to consider as we continue to upgrade the Mac app. Stay tuned on that front!

All the best,
Team Opal
