Something is wrong with the focus bar. I have my email marked as āvery productiveā since I use it for work, yet it drops my focus score. When I moved email to neutral, my focus score went upā¦ is the focus bar even taking into consideration āproductiveā?
Thatās the biggest flaw with this app in my opinion.
The focus score looks at total screen time and the only category that doesnāt include it in screen time is neutral
There really needs to be a way for the analytics to distinguish between productive and distracting screen time. I love the screen time blockers on this app but hope that the team can provide more detailed analytics and screen time breakdown before my next renewal!
Hi so I just got opal on my ipad too as it has started to distract me. However, my screen time total for the day has started to look huge but thats because I mainly use apps that i take notes on and use for studying. It would be great if there was an option to turn off an appās screen time as im using most of my screen time for focus rather than distraction and I start to feel slightly insecure about the amount it shows for my total, even though im doing it for something that benefits me.

Hey there @Sandra_Rybicka,
Happy to help! This is already possible: you simply need to update the Focus Score associated with each app so that it does not add to the screentime on your Home tab. You can do so by following the steps here:
Iāve also merged your request into the existing thread on our screentime display!
All the best,
Team Opal
Totally understand how to exclude an app from the screen time by categorizing as neutral.
The issue is that feels like a workaround.
A few suggestions that would be amazing and really help users understand their screen habits and drive positive behavior changes
1- instead of having to rate an app as neutral so itās not included in screen total,
Show total screen time, with a breakdown of productive screen time and distracting screen time.
2- show the data as a pie chart
Any number of typical data visuals
I want accurate analytics of my usage please!!!
I would love this too! How much total time did I spend in distracting? And how itās going down? My total screen time (with productive) will likely stay the same since I use it for work.
